Plot
The movie is based primarily on detective Nick Curran (Michael Douglas) who is investigating the brutal murder of a wealthy retired rock star. Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone) is a gorgeous, seductive, mysterious and wealthy crime author whom the police believe is somehow involved in the case. Throughout the investigation, Detective Curran becomes involved in a bizarre and intense relationship with Tramell who turns out to be extremely dangerous.

Why is this one of my favourite movies?
The character of Catherine Tremell is the reason why this is one of my favourite movies. Tremell is such an interesting character and the relationship between Catherine and Nick is both intense and insane. Catherine is also very manipulative, you can never tell if she's telling the truth or not. In one scene the she passes a lie detector test, yet you still have feeling she's not telling the truth.
